Frogs: A Chorus of Colors traveling exhibition
Closing: April 10
Discover fascinating living frogs, each adapted ingeniously for survival in locations around the world. Observe a large collection of rare and unusual frogs up close and in seldom-seen detail. Discover, among the many live frogs on exhibit, the sure-footed tree frogs, the impressive Argentinian horned frog, the jewel-toned poison dart frogs and dozens of other species. These amazing amphibians embody the diversity of nature and the importance of form and function in living systems. Each frog has a story of its own, a story worth knowing, understanding and sharing.
The exhibition is teeming with activity and reveals many astonishing details of animal adaptation that represent the striking variety of frogs, which there are approximately 5,400 species. Camouflage, poison, mimicry, gliding, sliding, hiding...all are strategies that have shepherded these vulnerable creatures through time. Many serve as important signs of our environment’s health and stability.
